Who we are
Meridian Education is an independent advisory for Queensland families navigating subject selection, the ATAR, scholarships and university pathways. We are based in Brisbane and work with families across Queensland.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email info@meridianeducation.com.au.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to reply to you, book a conversation, deliver a purchase, or give advice:
- Contact form: your name, email, the topic you select, and your message.
- Bookings: the name, email, phone number and appointment details you enter in Calendly, plus any notes you add.
- Guide purchases: your email and payment confirmation from Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Consultations: information you or your child share so we can give useful advice — for example school year, subjects, interests, goals, and academic context.
- Website: basic technical data that hosting and third-party tools may log, such as browser type or pages visited.
Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- Reply to enquiries and book free chats or consultations
- Prepare for and deliver pathway advice
- Send the Subject Selection Guide after a purchase, and confirm that payment
- Send appointment reminders (including by text, if you have given us a number)
- Improve how the site and our services work
- Meet any legal or accounting obligations that apply to us
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing lists.
Information about children
Our services are for parents and families. When we talk about a student, we usually receive that information from a parent or guardian. We use it only to give pathway advice. We do not ask students to create accounts, and we do not publish identifying details about a child without permission.
Who we share it with
We share information with the tools that make the site and bookings work. They only receive what they need to provide that service:
- Calendly — scheduling the free chat and sending reminders
- Meta (Facebook) — measuring ads and website actions (for example bookings and guide purchases) so we can see which ads are working
- Stripe — processing guide payments
- FormSubmit — delivering messages from the contact form to our inbox
- Netlify — hosting the website and storing a short-lived download record after a guide purchase (email and payment session, typically for 48 hours)
- Google Fonts — loading the typefaces used on this site
Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We also share information with a pathway mentor if you book a consultation with them. We do not share your information with schools, universities or other families unless you ask us to.
Cookies and similar tools
We use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising and understand which ads led someone to the site,
a free-chat booking, or a guide purchase. That may involve cookies and similar identifiers,
and we may keep first-touch campaign details (such as UTM parameters and Meta’s fbclid)
in your browser for about 90 days so we can attribute a later booking or purchase to the ad
that originally brought you here.
Third-party tools we embed — especially Calendly, Stripe and Meta — may also set their own cookies so bookings, payments and ad measurement work. You can control cookies in your browser, and you can manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings. Some features may not work if you block cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we need them to help you, follow up, or keep ordinary business records, then we delete or de-identify them. Guide download records expire after about 48 hours. Consultation notes are kept only while they are useful for the advice we have been asked to give, or as required for our records.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including using reputable providers for payments, bookings and hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive documents through the contact form unless we have asked for them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Email info@meridianeducation.com.au and we will respond as promptly as we can.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page if our services or the tools we use change. The date at the top will always show when it was last revised.
